What a 1st day!!!

Saturday March 12 started innocent enough, we had the 5er packed and ready to move by 10:30am. The trip to KOA and moving into our site went quietly. Jason, the most amazing RV tech, showed up about 11:45 and started showing us all the systems and how to connect hoses etc...It's one thing to read and be told how to do something but another to actually do it.
Everything was fine until I until I got on the phone with Direct TV. Jason was going to stay until I was connected but he had to takeoff and I told him no problem I could finish up. Well over an hour later I was still on the phone. Without going into a whole lot of detail it turns out the receivers Winegard, the satellite company, shipped us equipment which is not compatible with Direct TV and the satellite. After 3 phone calls and extreme frustration I gave up.
The next issue was Sherri taking a shower and not having any hot water, it did come on this morning and we still don't know why it took almost 24 hours to get hot water. Then the dog had to go out at 3am, which he never has to do. By this time it was cold in the 5er and I finally figured out how to work the heater.
On top of losing an hour of sleep, daylight savings time, and the dog and heater issues I had to get up early for a golf tournament.
Nothing tragic happened and we will figure out 5th wheel living. I did finish tied for 2nd in the tournament and we got our broadband set up with out much trouble so today is good.

  1. Rorik,

Ain't learning new stuff just great? But, don't feel bad. Jo and I have been camping for years, several of those with campers. It wasn't until 2009 that we stayed in a place with full hookups.

Talk about a learning curve....if it hadn't been for a really helpful camper walking down the campground road, I'd have never got the awning out. We had them on two different campers, but I had never deployed them.

I know you will be around ABQ (sorry could spell it) for a while, but I'm lookin forward to traveling tales.
